Community Chest is a 90 year-old charitable organization, dedicated to supporting local 501(c)(3)s who aid and help community members. Our “Neighbors Helping Neighbors” program provides financial assistance and support to those who have fallen on hard times in the Five Towns and the surrounding local communities.
CAHAL
CAHAL is a yeshiva-based program of self-contained classes for children with learning differences from Kindergarten through High School. CAHAL was organized by local Rabbis, Principals and community leaders who were concerned with the challenges presented by children who were not succeeding in the mainstream yeshiva class, even with resource room or other support. https://www.cahal.org/ |
Chai Lifeline
Fighting Illness With Love. Chai Lifeline restores the light of childhood to children whose innocence ended when cancer, life-threatening, or lifelong illness was diagnosed. Five Towns Early Learning Center

Hatzalah
The beginnings of Hatzalah of the Rockaways and Nassau County go back 30 years when a handful of volunteers took it upon themselves to rescue lives in Rockaway and Lawrence. Since then the organization has evolved into an all-volunteer force that is licensed, equipped and ready to respond 24/7 to any and all medical emergencies between Belle Harbor, East Rockaway and North Woodmere. https://hatzalah.org/ |
Inwood Buccaneers
The summer program has had its door open to young boys with an interest in football for over 50 years making it one of the oldest and most historic members of the 16 Nassau County Football League teams. The Jewish Parent Academy (JPA) is a groundbreaking grassroots movement dedicated to fostering vibrant, resilient communities through immersive Jewish education tailored for parents, who emigrated from the former Soviet Union, raising the next generation of American Jews. Lev Leytzan
Established in 2004, Lev Leytzan is a non-profit organization 501(c)(3) based in New York. We rely entirely on volunteers and donations to manage our many programs and services. Lev Leytzan is led by a multidisciplinary board of directors that includes representatives from the community, the medical establishment, and the arts, as well as spiritual leaders and program alumni. SIBSPLACE
SIBSPLACE is a free therapeutic program of South Nassau Communities Hospital. The program serves children aged 5-17, who are living with a sibling with cancer or another devastating illness, or a parent with cancer. Tomchei Shabbos
Tomchei Shabbos Yad Yeshaya of the Five Towns and Far Rockaway, a 501(c)(3) charitable organization, was founded in 1985 in memory of Yeshaya Alpert z’l to provide food for Shabbos and Yom Tov to our needy neighbors.
